REDCap Software
REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) is a web-based data capture system. It is widely used among a collaborative REDCap Consortium of over 7,000 institutions. The Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute at Michigan State University is a contributing REDCap consortium member and have maintained our own instances of REDCap here on MSU servers for over ten years. The standard features of REDCap are available for faculty and staff paid by MSU, but our development team is regularly customizing study-specific features for a diverse set of research protocols.
BRIC created a tiered support model in the summer of 2024. The goal of this support model is to increase accessibility to the REDCap service by lowering costs for projects that only involve MSU users and are able to manage most of the management tasks within their research group. For projects that require features that need significant support from the BRIC staff, the rate will remain the same.
The following is the division of features into two tiers. Features were assigned to support tiers based on the amount of BRIC staff support time necessary to support the feature.
